What Customers Say About Yamaha HTR-6150BL 630 Watt 7.1-Channel Home Theater Receiver:

Bit of a bummer that you cannot drive A and B at same time.Aside from the video out and the odd A/B and zone setup. The 4 "scene" buttons (hold down for 5s to set) are nice. I tried using the A/B speaker (A for inside and B for out) - serious woe waiting to happen there.

In addition to the standard speakers I also ran a pair outside and was hoping the zone-2 function would let me use those on source A while someone was enjoying source B in the TV room. You cannot view the aux/doc video via hdmi. Lots of chatter about video upscaling.

I was hoping to connect Wii (video), HD Tivo (hdmi), AppleTV (hdmi) and the ipod doc to the reciever and have only a single outbound hdmi cable to the TV. Total nightmare. The zone feature - no idea how that really works - manual looks like it requires another reciever to work properly.

however video in cannot go out hdmi - neither can the on screen display gui (OSD) or the video from the aux/doc (ipod) or video in - those must use the video out. Total bummer - wife and kids have to know to switch the reciever to "Wii" (which is labled DVR on the remote) and then press SOURCE on the TV until AV1 shows up.

If you are using any of the special "enhanced" sounds settings the rear surround play with the B speakers. They allow you to set sound settings and other tweaks - "Tivo watching - surround sound".The ipod support is very nice - OSD and driving of the menus and ability to play video - works for iphone and ipods.
